Partners in Need--Your Donation Matters
At different points throughout the year, our partners will request specific funding for projects, events or other items requiring immediate attention. Below is a detailed description of current needs, along with the funding necessary to meet the need.
Tabitha Ministries:
Tabitha Ministries, headed by Gail Trollip, houses orphans and cares for home-bound patients dying of AIDS. The ministry maintains two sites, one in the town of Pietermaritzburg that functions as an orphanage for 30 children aged 0 to 6 and a school. The other site is in the rural area of Sweetwaters and is an orphanage for children aged 6 and older. During our recent trip to South Africa, we were able to visit with Gail Trollip, her staff and all of the children at both sites. To see first-hand the dire need of these populations served by Tabitha, one immediately feels the urgency to help in any way possible. Through your generous donations, our team was able to help finish the concrete path and road into the Sweetwaters facility, provide the materials for and begin the rebuilding of the damaged residential building at Sweetwaters, fix the roof and paint the interior of the new community center at Sweetwaters. Still to be done is the plumbing and electrical work at the new community center and residential building. The cost of this work will run around 9000 Rand or $1,400 USD.
The other ongoing need for Tabitha is keeping the children properly attired whether it be daily wear, school uniforms, sports uniforms or shoes. The children wear one outfit and one pair of shoes until holes are worn through or they completely outgrow them. Hand in Hand is looking for 10 people willing to donate $100 a month for these items.

Mmametlhake Family Care Center:
MFCC is a full-service care center for individuals and families to receive medical care, counseling, disease education and home-based care. Currently there are eight (8) home-based care staff members who need funding to continue their vital community work.
To sustain monthly funding for these home-based care workers, approximately 11,000 Rand or around $1,500 US needs to be raised each month.
